IMO (International – Maritime - Organization)
For years, IVM Chemicals srl has certified its products for naval use, according to IMO criteria.
IMO criteria set out standards for the construction and subdivision of ships, fire-fighting equipment, plant engineering, survival and rescue (SOLAS), as well as for training and certification of seafarers (STCW). They also define protocols for the investigation of maritime accidents followed by the authority for the safe transport of the countries signatory of the Convention on international civil navigation.
The German laboratories MPA STUTTGART (OTTO-GRAF-INSTITUT) carried out tests of reaction to fire and fumes to ensure the suitability of coatings for naval use.
The MED Directive, regarding our coating sector regulates roofing materials and coverings to limit the spread of the flames in the vessel, indicating the fire and fume reaction tests.
IVM Chemicals GmbH got the mark of conformity for water and solvent-based cycles, passing the test for fire-reaction certification (form B) and for the certification of production system (module D).
